Full visibility on incomplete action items

AUTHOR: The Easy Agile team

Retrospectives drive improvement only when action items stay in sight. This release expands that visibility to every team, including Kanban boards, so no open improvement task slips through the cracks—no matter how many sprints (or flow cycles) it’s carried. New management tools, bulk actions, and celebratory feedback make it simpler than ever to close the loop and keep momentum high.

Why this matters

Ideas and experiments that linger unfinished can hide systemic issues and stall progress. Surfacing all incomplete action items—and letting teams sort, bulk-close, and celebrate their completion—helps you spot patterns, remove blockers, and reinforce a culture of continuous improvement. Extending this integrated action-management approach to Kanban teams maximises our reach ahead of even richer management capabilities coming soon.

What's new

  • All-sprints visibility —for Scrum and Kanban – Every open action item from the most recent and all previous retrospectives is now visible, regardless of board type.

  • List switcher – Toggle between Most recent and All incomplete views with a single click.

  • Context dropdown – Expand any open item to see its originating retrospective and related retro card, with quick click-through.

Additional improvements shipped with this release

  • Sorting options – Order incomplete items by Created date, Reactions, or Assignee.

  • Undo “mark as done” – Reopen an item instantly if it was closed by mistake.

  • Mark-all-complete – Bulk-close multiple items when one improvement solves several problems or when a team wants a fresh start.

  • Confetti celebration – Clear every open item—recent and historic—and enjoy a confetti burst that rewards follow-through.

  • Update assignee directly on the story map and retro actions in the incomplete actions column.

Key things to know

  1. Carry-over items spanning multiple sprints or flow cycles often point to wider process issues—use the All incomplete view to spot them.

  2. Sorting by Reactions surfaces items the team cares about most, while Created date highlights long-standing tasks.

  3. Confetti triggers only when every open action is closed, encouraging teams to finish what they start.

  4. Kanban teams now share the same integrated action-management workflow that has long benefited Scrum teams—keeping everyone aligned ahead of future enhancements.
