Instant Updates, Clearer Signals – More inline editing capability on the story map
Planning sessions just got faster. TeamRhythm now lets you change status, assignee, issue type and priority directly on the User Story Map — no extra clicks, no dialog boxes. Paired with a new filter by status (not status category) option, teams gain a crisper, real-time view of work as it moves through each stage.
Why this matters
Every click you save in a ceremony or backlog grooming session adds up to smoother flow and sharper focus. Inline edits eliminate context-switching, while detailed status visibility and granular filtering make blockers obvious the moment they appear. Return to the story map view, quickly and easily updating your work as the sprint progresses.
What's new
Inline status editing – Update the exact workflow status on any Story, Epic, or 3rd-level item without opening the issue. Status-category colours remain; hover to see the full status name.
Detailed status display – Cards now show the specific workflow status (e.g. In Review, QA Ready) rather than just the high-level category, helping teams spot bottlenecks at a glance.
Inline assignee change (Cloud) – Re-assign a Story Map card—or a Retrospective action item in the Incomplete column—right from the board.
Filter by Status (Cloud) – Narrow the Story Map to items in any workflow status (not just category). The filter pulls the exact statuses on your board and keeps colour coding for fast scanning.
Inline issue-type switch – Convert a Story to an Epic (or vice-versa) directly on the card where it sits.
Priority icons visible & editable – See and set Priority on the card itself (when the field is enabled), freeing up card real estate for other customised fields.
Additional improvements shipped with this release
Cards now reserve less space for fixed fields, letting teams surface more custom data via Card Configuration.
Hover tooltips on status and priority have been refined for quicker readability.
Key things to know
Inline edits respect your Jira permissions—if you can’t change it in Jira, you can’t change it here.
Status colours still follow Jira’s status-category scheme (To Do = blue, In Progress = yellow, Done = green).
The Status filter shows only statuses present on your board filter & issue types, preventing empty views.
